On the evening before their wedding, Kate and Dave hosted a BBQ gathering at Kate's family's ranch in Port Hope, Ontario. It was a magical evening accompanied by some swift weather changes. Dinner outdoors was rained out by a downpour but eventually the storm cleared revealing a double rainbow and a spectacular sunset. The evening concluded with a game of custom-made trivia which we Canadians learnt is a favourite past-time in Australia.
My friend Julia and I met at a food-related event a couple of years ago and ever since we have been collaborating on various projects: recipes, gatherings and editorials. Our friendship was born over food and is sustained through our love and belief in its 'magical' power. It has been comforting and exciting to find someone on a similar journey as myself and to have one another's support along the way. We recently got together and shot a recipe for a classic apple tart.
