Summer Camping | Parc National de la Mauricie, QC

A couple of weeks ago my friend Allison and I went on a canoe camping trip to Parc National de la Mauricie. This spring I had set a couple of intentions for the summer and one of them was to spend as much time as possible outdoors. I am happy and grateful to say this was achieved and that this summer was spent along many lakesides with friends old and new.

What I appreciate most about camping is that it slows things down and simple tasks can be appreciated. The days seem longer, your energy is spent in different ways and my favourite thing of all, food just tastes better! The weather we had this time around was a bit grey but on our final morning I was able to catch a subtle sunrise before we packed up and headed home. Goodbye summer, you've been a good one!

Tulum: Part Two | March 2015

During the latter half of my trip in Tulum I stayed on the beach. The constant sound of the crashing waves was incredibly soothing. After the sun sets electricity is not used very much so things become still and quiet in the evenings. Though the last couple of days were grey, I didn't mind seeing the environment in a different light. The overcast created a diffused palette of colours which I found to be quite stunning and unique.

Tulum: Part One | March 2015

Last month I travelled to Tulum, Mexico for a week. After a long winter the opportunity to experience sunshine and warmer weather came at a perfect (and much needed) time. I spent the majority of my stay in town, a few streets off of the main road. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place and the people were very friendly with big smiles. Tulum is a good destination if you want a getaway that allows you to explore both a little of the local life (it is very accessible by bike or foot) and a breathtaking natural environment.

Summer Part Four: Georgian Bay, ON | August 2014

These photos were collected over the past two summers during my annual pilgrimage to Derbyshire Island. I always feel most at ease when surrounded by water, trees and fresh air. The stillness the mornings bring and the darkness at night. I deeply comprehend why this landscape has influenced so many great artists. Dearest Georgian Bay... you never fail to inspire me.

Ps. I have a (new) website coming soon...
